After a year and a half of life turned upside down, inside out, I predict several things have changed the landscape of your life, probably in a very profound way!
So I wonder, does the blueprint by which your pre-pandemic life was built on, still work? You know, that blueprint or road map that once directed your work, environment, and even relationships? How you spend your time, money, and efforts? What you nurture, allow, and tolerate in your life?
Perhaps it's time to reevaluate, because if not now, when?
For the first time in over fifteen months, life feels like it is getting back to "normal." Things are opening up; the weather is encouraging us to get outside a bit more. Culture and concerts will welcome us back in person, restaurants can seat patrons inside, stores are lifting mask requirements, and Hallelujah, even Kripalu will be open for guests this summer. But what does the world opening mean for you?
Over the last several months, I have had the honor of supporting many clients through this adversity. And one thing is clear; change happened with or without our support.
Individuals lost their jobs, ended relationships, and sadly lost loved ones. Children left and came home. Some lost their quality of health; some gained it in ways they never had. Some people became more isolated and hated it; others loved the solitude and fear returning to a noisy, chaotic world. Many discovered nature and simplicity, and for that, they breathed deeply for the first time. Many of us became creative at discovering ways to connect with others, while some even used creativity to connect with their deepest sense of self!
Regardless of how you rode out and survived the pandemic, what is true for you now?
Let's begin by answering this question: "What I now know is...?"
· I love quiet and no longer fear it
· My job no longer fills me
· I deeply miss my family and connection
· I can paint and write
· I love my partner, and we can get through anything
· My self-esteem was built on too many external things
· I can have space in my calendar
· I see GOD in nature
· I want to live somewhere else
· I love to sleep, and my bed is my haven
· I can cook and actually enjoy it.
These are just some of the examples I have heard over the past few months.
I urge you to answer this question at least five times. Become the observer of yourself in your life by allowing your radical truth to be spoken, even if it is just to yourself. Then let this awareness inform and direct your next choice, decision, or exploration.
If nothing else, this major global event in our life has offered us all an opportunity to become more conscious. You can choose to ignore the wisdom or choose to follow the path and be curious about where it may lead you.
No matter what you choose, I promise the knowing won't go away. It will continue to poke and gnaw at you. Perhaps show up in ways that may dramatically shake up your life or subtly in your dreams or chance interludes.
So once again, "What I now know is…?"
Let the answers free you and invite change and possibilities. Let them help you to create a new blueprint for your life that supports this newfound wisdom. Your soul will thank you!
